China’s growth forecast for 2021 slashed to 7.9% by IMF

The International Monetary Fund has slashed its 2021 growth forecast for China to 7.9 percent. This is 0.3 percent lower than the earlier prediction of the IMF. This comes after a year of economic crises posed by Covid. “The Chinese economy continues its fast recovery from the pandemic, helped by a strong containment effort and swift policy actions to mitigate the impact of the crisis,” the IMF said in its report.
