The potential amendment to the film censorship bill of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) will not squeeze the creative space of filmmakers, but will only impose restrictions on those who convey anti-government and secessionist ideology in their films, said famous Hong Kong film director and producer Wong Jing in an exclusive interview with the Global Times on Thursday.
港府建议修订《电影检查条例》，明文规定检查员须考虑影片上映是否不利于国家安全。有外媒借此炒作“香港自由进一步萎缩”，《环球时报》就此对香港知名导演王晶进行了专访。
“早就该这样。”王晶26日对《环球时报》记者表示，修订《电影检查条例》一点都不会限制电影工作者创作的空间，只是挤压了反中乱港分子推销“私货”的空间，“担心‘检查会冲击香港电影’的人一般都没什么戏拍，因为他们无知或者别有用心，真正用心做电影的人没有一个人会这样说”。
