Facebook宣布改名“Meta”
Facebook Inc said on Thursday it would rebrand as Meta, a name change that comes as the company battles criticisms from lawmakers and regulators over its market power, its algorithmic decisions and the policing of abuses on its platforms. CEO Mark Zuckerberg, speaking at the company`s live-streamed virtual and augmented reality conference, said the new name reflected its focus on building the metaverse.
北京时间10月29日凌晨消息，Facebook周四（10月28日）宣布，将把公司名称改为“Meta”。现在这个标志已经取代了该公司在门洛帕克的全球总部门牌上的标志性大拇指的Like图标。
扎克伯格在周四举行的Facebook Connect会议上发表演讲称，“元宇宙（metaverse）是下一个前沿，从现在开始，我们将以元宇宙为先，而不是Facebook优先。”Facebook希望将未来押注于“元宇宙”这个新的计算平台，此次更名是最明确的信号，元宇宙这个概念源于科幻小说家的想象中。在Facebook看来，无论是在会议室与同事交谈，还是在遥远的世界各地与朋友闲逛，人们都将通过进入虚拟环境来进行聚集和沟通。
