A South Korean national has been arrested in China on a spying charge, the Chinese foreign ministry confirmed on Tuesday.
中国外交部周二证实，一名韩国公民因涉嫌间谍活动在中国被捕。
Foreign ministry spokesman Lin Jian said the South Korean citizen was arrested “in accordance with the law on suspicion of espionage” and that their lawful rights would be safeguarded, without giving further details.
外交部发言人林健表示，这名韩国公民因涉嫌间谍活动“依法”被捕，并将保障其合法权利，但未透露更多细节。
Man was working for a Chinese semiconductor company in Hefei when he was detained late last year, according to Yonhap report.
据韩联社报道，该男子在去年年底被拘留时，正在合肥一家中国半导体公司工作。
