China Forms AI Standards Committee with Top Tech Leaders

China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) has established a new AI standardization committee to develop and revise standards for AI applications, including large language models, datasets, and testing. The 41-member group includes executives from Baidu, Alibaba, Tencent, Huawei, SenseTime, and iFlyTek, alongside representatives from Ant Group, Moore Threads, and Changan Automobile. Academic experts from Peking and Tsinghua universities and state telecoms China Mobile, China Telecom, and China Unicom also participate. This initiative reflects China’s commitment to shaping AI’s future in diverse sectors through robust standardization efforts.
中国工业和信息化部（MIIT）宣布成立人工智能（AI）标准化技术委员会，负责制定和修订AI应用标准，包括大语言模型、数据集及测试等领域的规范。该委员会由41名成员组成，涵盖百度、阿里巴巴、腾讯、华为、商汤科技和科大讯飞等企业的高管，以及蚂蚁集团、摩尔线程、长安汽车等公司代表。此外，北京大学、清华大学的学术专家，以及中国移动、中国电信和中国联通等国有电信运营商的代表也参与其中。此举彰显了中国通过标准化推动AI未来发展的决心。
