Electric vehicles (EVs) are projected to outsell traditional internal combustion engine cars in China next year, marking a pivotal shift in the global auto market. Domestic EV sales, including pure battery and plug-in hybrids, are forecasted to grow 20% annually, reaching over 12 million units by 2025—more than double the 5.9 million sold in 2022. In contrast, traditional car sales are expected to drop below 11 million next year. China’s advancements in EV technology, supply chain control, and cost efficiency have positioned it well ahead of Europe and the US, where growth has slowed.
