Tibet Earthquake Claims Over 126 Lives

A magnitude 6.8 earthquake struck Tibet’s Tingri County near Xigaze on January 7, 2025, leaving at least 126 dead and many injured. The quake occurred shortly after 9 a.m., according to the China Earthquake Networks Centre. Chinese President urged maximum efforts for search and rescue operations to minimize casualties.
