Italy Bans Chinese AI Chatbot DeepSeek Over Data Concerns

Italy’s Data Protection Agency has blocked Chinese AI chatbot DeepSeek from processing Italian users’ data and launched an investigation into its data practices. The agency stated that DeepSeek’s responses to inquiries about personal data usage were “completely insufficient.” As a result, it issued an urgent and immediate restriction on data processing by Hangzhou DeepSeek Artificial Intelligence and Beijing DeepSeek Artificial Intelligence, the companies behind the chatbot.
