Japan will invest over 20 trillion yen ($133 billion) in a five-year national resilience plan to reinforce key infrastructure against future earthquakes. This is 5 trillion yen more than the previous plan from 2021. A major focus will be strengthening essential services, especially after the Noto Peninsula earthquake in January. The initiative aims to enhance disaster preparedness and mitigate risks from future seismic events, according to government sources.
